🎅🦃Don't Let THIS Happen To You 🦃🎅 (Disclaimer- Everything with exercise and nutrition depends on your current state and your desired state or your goals, but here we will assume you have goals you want to accomplish.) **Don't trade exercise for food (especially guessing or not accurately counting the calories in vs out)! THAT KIND OF TRANSACTION MINDSET, WHERE YOU EARN FOOD BASED ON CALORIES YOU’VE BURNED WITH EXERCISE, IS A RECIPE FOR FAILURE. Especially if its not what you think?> If you wear a HR monitor on your wrist, it is not as accurate as wearing a strap on your chest. Even a not properly set chest strap can give a skewed reading. So in this case, if you were to hop on the treadmill at 2.5 for 60 mins and walk swinging your arms (or worse, using the generalized reading on the treadmill not taking into account your individual fitness level) you could burn half the calories you think. For the last 6 years at MaxP we have used MyZone to accurately track your heart rate and calories burned during exercise. Heart Rate Zone Monitoring/Training is not a new thing and there are a lot of systems out there (Fitbit, apple, etc.) but one thing about tracking like any accountability system is that it only works if some one can see it and hold you accountable for it. Over the next week we will get into EPOC (and is it real), Heart Rate Zone Training (dos and donts), Nutrition (are you accurately tracking what you are taking in, or do you just think you are), Cheat Meals and what they are meant for and What You Need To Make It All Make Sense. "Always take the time to Reflect and Reward your self for accomplish goals in your life. But choose a reward that is not food based. We are not animals that just performed a trick or obeyed a command. All we did was do what we were supposed to the first time. Buy yourself new clothes, do something you weren't able to be in your previous state or use that time to reflect on what is next". http://bit.ly/HotForTheHolidays1

How did the Thanksgiving feast go yesterday? What threw you off track with your nutrition? TIP- If you eat food that has too much sugar or is over your daily amount for the day, it won't look like you gained today, or maybe even tomorrow, but you did. Thats how the slippery slope starts. Eat bad food today, nothing happened tomorrow. Since yesterday didn't hurt, I can have a lil more today. Repeat Repeat Repeat Repeat.... Then 5-10lbs by January happens. Let's avoid it this year!
