This morning the Banning City Council officially broke ground on the improvements for Roosevelt Williams Park. The additions for the revitalized park include new playground equipment and gazebos, two new basketball courts to replace the old ones, a walking path with lighting and benches, drinking fountains, upgrades to the existing community building and expansions to the bathrooms, a multi-use sports field, and new landscaping throughout the park. Construction started today and will be ongoing over the next several months. The upgrades to the park are expected to be completed by February 2018.
Don't forget the solar eclipse this morning! Be cautious and remember not to stare directly at the eclipse unless you have special eyewear or viewing equipment. In Banning, partial eclipse is expected to start at 9:07 A.M., with a maximum eclipse at 10:23 A.M. and ending at 11:48 A.M.
