CCSP values all of its volunteers and is proud of the program we have developed over the years. This summer we were fortunate to have many volunteers working daily to keep the park running smoothly and efficiently. If you have camped with us you have probably met one of those volunteers, Lucinda DeVries, who has been volunteering at CCSP since 2014. Lucinda’s husband accepted a position with a water company in Denver in 2010 which allowed them to move to the state where their favorite football team is located. The Denver Broncos are one of the main reasons this couple started dating in 2002 when they met in Las Vegas. Both were born and raised in Southern California and moved to Las Vegas at different times. Lucinda told us, “It’s rare to meet a Broncos fan in Las Vegas and especially one who grew up less than 20 miles away from you. After almost 5 years of dating we got married, we just celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary in August.” Lucinda and her husband decided to start full time RV’ing in 2014 in an attempt to live a “recession proof” lifestyle. Their chosen lifestyle has allowed them to start a business without the concerns of overhead most new businesses face. Most recently Lucinda has also started a business with Rodan + Fields as a independent consultant. Her career includes over 15 years working for advertising agencies in: Tustin and Costa Mesa, California; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Denver, Colorado. She also owned her own agency in Las Vegas for a couple years working with residential real estate corporations developing the strategies for new communities until the Crash of 2008. She also worked for many years in the service industry as a server, opening manager and corporate trainer. These combined skills have made it possible for her to help with training new campground office volunteers, updating and maintaining the training manuals, managing the parks Facebook page, and any other tasks needed to be done. “I’ve been so fortunate to volunteer in a park with such amazing volunteers and staff. When my husband and I decided to leave Corporate America to live full-time in an RV we didn’t know we would make so many friends and have such an incredible life.” For the past few summers Lucinda also worked at a US Forest Service campground as a Campground Manager. There, she was responsible for bookkeeping, maintaining all 39 campsites as well as education to ensure all the visitors followed rules regarding safety when camping with large wildlife such as bears and moose. Lucinda looks forward to many more years full time RV’ing, and most of all, the day when they can pack up and start traveling the country.
