This is Your Y! Dear YMCA members, All courts are now open again! We had to dry out the courts (see photos) after water damage from destructive behavior. God has blessed us with a wonderful facility through very generous donors who believe in our mission and building a better community through challenging individuals physically, mentally and spiritually. I have witnessed our community growing together at the YMCA as we work on our own lives and love and support others who are on the same journey. It has been great to watch the growth in our members and community. As you may know we have had some recent damage to our facility by careless guests. The two primary issues are hanging on the basketball rims (which resulted in a shattered backboard) and kicking basketballs (which resulted in a broken sprinkler line and 2 flooded courts). We are just very grateful that no one was seriously hurt in these incidents. Please know this behavior is not acceptable and we do have staff assigned during our busy times in the winter months to monitor all areas of the building. What I would like to ask of you as members who take pride in your great facilities, is to please report any dangerous or damaging behavior you may see to the front desk immediately. We will work hard on signage, staff monitoring and other security measures but we need everyone’s help to keep our YMCA a safe place for families and keep it looking great! Thank you for being a member at your YMCA and caring enough to let us know when you see problems.
