Our facility, unique to Iowa State and nearly all of the Midwest, allows for animal-human interaction through classes and a variety of events. Our facility, unique to Iowa State and nearly all of the Midwest, allows for animal-human interaction through teaching laboratories, outreach activities, and a variety of functions for future and current students.
As a keystone in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences’ efforts to train students for a diverse set of opportunities in animal husbandry, agriculture and related fields, the center also provides an inviting environment for recruiting young people interested in learning more about the diverse career opportunities in these fields.
The education doesn't stop when the students leave the classroom. A wide variety of student organizations use the facility to conduct meetings, host events, and network. The Jeff & Deb Hansen Agriculture Student Learning Center is proud to currently employ twelve Iowa State University students from a variety of majors and backgrounds.
In addition, this facility plays host to a variety of events outside Iowa State University, such as business meetings, formal dinners, and private celebrations. The Jeff & Deb Hansen Agriculture Student Learning Center is truly versatile in it's capabilities and an outstanding place to have an event.

For the final post for our January Employee of the Month, Clarabell is sharing advice to future employees! If you've ever laid down flooring or picked up / set up gates, you know that some tasks sure feel like a lot of work... but if you have the right crew you can make any task enjoyable!
"Excellence is the unlimited ability to improve the quality of what you have to offer!" The hard work put into the Tradition of Excellence sale by the Iowa State students, advisors, and all those involved was shown yesterday during the sale! With each sale students gain experience in seedstock merchandising, and are in charge of halter breaking cattle, clipping, photographing sale cattle, advertising, etc. We cannot wait to see what the next sale will have to offer!
The Tradition of Excellence Sale is going on today at the Hansen Ag Student Learning Center! This is a biannual heifer and private treaty bull sale that is hosted by Iowa State students!
Today the AnS 101 class, Working with Animals, is utilizing the Hansen Center atrium for their Feed ID lab! During this lab students learn to identify various roughages and concentrates!
