Please keep a lookout for this handsome ginger boy. He's been missing from his home near to Frosts Garden Centre for a few days now and his owner is very worried.
Our very own mad cat lady, Heather, brings you the Toilet roll pyramid cat toy! Made with her own fair hands, the tubes have some dry cat biscuits hidden inside and Mischief (remember the tiny kitten Heather hand reared?) is well and truly entertained. Please share your own home made or improvised pet toys with us. We'd love to see them

Some sad news folks. Ellie's leaving us next month for a job in industry. We're going to miss her so much and we're sure you will too. She's been a fantastic asset over the past 3 years, a wonderful nurse and great fun. Over to Ellie:- 'I was considering going down the route of mop head model, goose handler, plastic apron model and muzzle holder, but am actually leaving Greensands to go and work for Lintbells, a company who manufacture supplements for animals! I'll be part of the technical advice team, so it might be me you speak to if you call with any queries. I have learnt so much in the four and a half years working at Greensands, both about nursing and the veterinary world, as well as about myself. I feel sad to be leaving Greensands, where it has always been like being with family rather than working in a team, and will miss all of our lovely clients and their even lovelier pets, but am looking forward to my new challenge. I'd love to say goodbye to you all before I leave, so if you want to pop in for a final belly rub (dogs not owners I'm afraid!), my last day is 12th May' Ellie

Nervous at the vets? Not Bowie! He was in for a new pet check today, having only been in his new home for a few days and he snoozed through most of it. He just woke up for a tummy rub and a biscuit!

The lovely Ozzie needed no restraint for his bladder scan. He was the perfect patient, he lifted his own leg up to make it really easy for Derek! (Ethan didn't have to do a thing)

Not all cat owners are aware just how toxic lilies can be to cats. They don't actually have to eat the flowers or leaves but it's when they rub against them and get the pollen in their coat that they ingest it during grooming. Cutting the orange stamens out of the centre of each flower will remove the pollen and you can then safely put your flowers out of the reach of your cat.

We saw Jessie a while ago almost unable to walk because of severe damage to her Achilles' tendons (I'll put the video I took then in the comments section) and referred her to an orthopaedic specialist. With the help of the physio team and some rather nifty custom made leg splints, Jessie is back on her feet again. This video shows her wearing just one splint as the other is having some final adjustments made.

Have you ever seen a sassier kitty? Lovely little Whisper came in to be neutered today, and has gone home modelling the hottest SS17 trend, a leopard print leotard! This is an alternative to a plastic collar to avoid patients interfering with their operation sites. We think she looks fabulous!

A message from our feathered friends to all hairy beasties. You know all the unwanted hair that comes off your pet when you groom them? Why not put it to good use and let the birds that are currently nest building use it to insulate their nests? Either leave it where it lies on the lawn after your dog's had a good brush or peg some of it onto the washing line where birds will soon spot it.
