The brain child of a Lakeland Hotelier, Colin Monk and Cheshire-based restaurateur, Alex Mauro, the Caffe Riva concept draws its inspiration from the simplicity, quality and elegance of all things Italian.
Caffe Riva has been brought to life by the award winning interior designer Alison Tordoff – whose boat deck flooring, elegant curves and signature colours subtly reference this floating Italian Masterpiece.
The menu and wine list continue this theme of simplicity and elegance and offer the diner a true taste of Italy. Well sourced, quality ingredients simply prepared and served with warmth and gusto. With the well-represented regionality of Italian cuisine and wines going hand in hand.
Caffe Riva’s doors are open to all! So whether wanting ‘un espresso’ and a read of the morning paper, a lunchtime ‘panino’, an early evening ‘aperitivo’ and ‘cicchetti’ (Italy’s answer to tapas) or a leisurely evening meal, Caffe Riva is there to serve.

New Grappa Collection @ #Caffe_Riva Distillation is an ancient practice that can be traced back to the first century AD. While the distillation of alcohol may have been carried out reliably by the School of Salerno in the 12th century,fractional distillation was developed by Taddeo Alderotti in the 13th century. There is a legend that tells of a Roman soldier who first distilled grappa in the northern Italian town of Bassano del Grappa using distilling equipment stolen in Egypt ("Crisiopea di Cleopatra" 2nd century AD).
