We'd like to say a HUGE happy birthday to our sponsored elephant Mashudu who we have been supporting at the research unit in South Africa for 5 years. Mashudu was born in 2007. His parents were killed on a hunting farm in the North West province and came to the park in 2008. Here are a few photos of Georgie walking with Mashudu at the beginning of the year when she visited the Ellies :)

Our project in Sri Lanka was started as an innovative effort to prevent wild elephants destroying crops and becoming dangerous in villages. The concept was to fence elephants out of specific areas rather than try to fence them into protected areas. Today this concept is widely used to mitigate human/elephant conflict by state agencies and private NGOs and institutions. Come to Sri Lanka and study those elephants in the wild, help maintain this delicate balance, and enjoy one of the most beautiful countries on our planet.🐘🌱🐘

Have you been thinking about our veterinary internship programme? Well you'll think no further after looking at these AMAZING photos from Sophie Taylor's time out there in South Africa. So much exposure to exotic wildlife, as well as helping domestic and farm animals. The photos say it all....

New Oyster volunteers arrived at our #elephantsanctuary in #Thailand this week. Sisters Sophie and Molly worked hard to #fundraise every penny for their trip. By #fundraising you really appreciate what you have saved for, and guess what? It’s totally possible to do! Well done girls, we can't wait for more updates.🙌👌🏻👌🏻

We're still on a mission to help Sri Lanka tourism return to it's former glory. Our partners at the elephant conservation centre initiated an amazing scheme by introducing a free bus service called the 'EleFriendly' bus. Funds from volunteers go towards maintaining and running an Ele-friendly bus service, which transports 120 children to school safely each day. ***Funds are running out for this service***** Which means that the children will have to walk 14km each day through wild elephant grazing grounds to get to school. This is dangerous, and will lead to the local children not being able to get to school any more. If you've some spare change, please donate a bit to gofund me. We must keep this service running!
Matthias has been volunteering at our wildlife sanctuary in Ecuador. He's been building enclosures and making friends with the nocturnal primates :)))
