This Saturday, Wick High School will be the venue for the annual Jobs And How To Get Them careers event. Running in the school's hall and Street area, the event will be open from 10am to 2pm. Thirty-three local and national employers will be in attendance as well as representatives from all of the Armed Forces. Very soon, senior students in the school will turn their thoughts to the subjects that they wish to take in the next academic session (2018-19). A group of our staff and pupils this weekend returned from a wonderful skiing trip to the resort of Pila, Aosta Valley, Italy. The trip, saw the pupils taken through skiing and snowboarding during the day and various activities in the evening including tubing (shown in the video below), swimming, and 10-pin bowling. Our S3 Business pupils have recently been using their entrepreneurial skills to work on a Subway sandwich competition. This was inspired by word of a Subway franchise opening in Wick however this has not materialised so the pupils decided to organise the competition as an in-house event. The competition involved the pupils working in groups to design and market a new ‘Sub’ which meets the healthy living guidelines set by Subway in terms of fat and saturated fat content.
