Baking is Fruit Scones, Cheese Scones, Easter Victoria Sponge, Easter Cakes, Millionaire Shortbread, Mars Bar Square, White Chocolate Cheesecake, Strawberry Tarts and Strawberry and Chocolate Meringues. Contrary to rumours sweeping the town at present, I would just like to say the following. We are not giving up The Corner Cafe, why would we? We’re doing rather well here and will be staying in this business until retirement which will be a few years away to say the least.👍 We do close for around 9 weeks each year which is always during school holidays when we go on holiday. This was taken on as a semi retirement project hence the reason we take time out. So, good people of Caithness, you’re stuck with us 🤣🤣

Many thanks to Darren and Amanda Hutchison for choosing Corner Cafe to cater for their Silver Wedding. Also to Kayleigh Leiper for her Hen Day today. Thank you to Ian Grant, former editor of ‘The Groat’ for giving me flowers yesterday. Ian has had his lunch from the cafe every work day for the past two and a half years. We will miss Ian’s news and banter now that he has moved on. 😀

The Cafe will be closed on Monday 19th March because we are away for a couple of day. Many thanks to everyone for their continued custom, it’s much appreciated. We’ve had a mega busy couple of weeks. Also, a big thank you to all who ordered catering. We were too busy to get photos of today’s catering. We’re delighted with our little semi retirement project 😳😳😳

Happy birthday to Kaitlin Gunn, 17 today. Kaitlin enjoyed lunch and a chocolate fudge cake in the cafe. We also had The Jersey Boys in for lunch today. It’s all happening in the Cafe.

The Cafe kitchen will be closing at 2pm tomorrow, Saturday 24th February, because we will be attending a 50th birthday in Inverness. Soups, coffees, teas and baking only after this time. Normal cafe hours are 8.30am-3.00pm Soups tomorrow are Cullen Skink or Lentil. Baking will be millionaire shortbread, lemon and coconut slice, mars bar slice, mint cheesecake, fruit scones, fruit tarts, butterfly cakes and lemon sponge. Salads are selling really well despite the cold weather. One of our best selling takeaways 👍 There will be more haddock tomorrow fresh from Blackstairs fishmongers. They fairly fill the plate. A best seller 😀

Tomorrow is pancake day. Richard will be making his hot pancakes with various fillings including butter, jam, syrup, Nutella, berries and cream. Today we have Lentil Soup.
