Today we saw members of Suffolk police at the wholesalers who were promoting the Suffolk safe key scheme, it's very good and offers an extra layer of security for our customers, full details can be found at www.suffolk.safekey.org.uk There's also a telephone number which is 08444 121 802. The scheme is essentially that they issue you with a fob to be attached to your keys for £12 a year with additional fobs for £6 each, the fob advertises a £10 reward to the finder if they hand the keys in after ringing the number on the fob. The police no longer accept lost keys. A brilliant scheme with the fob registered to yourselves. Here's how we will use it. We carry a lot of client keys and we have never ever lost a key, we keep keys in a locked safe in our response alarmed offices only taking out what keys we need for that days work, we have a system that cannot identify which keys are for which property. Whenever we take a key out of the office we will now attach the safe key fob to it, adding an extra layer of security to our already robust system. Ahead of the awaited guide to hiring a painter just a word on the difference between trade paint and DIY paint, there is only two credible trade paints on the market, silicon and johnstones trade, the difference between these and DIY paint is the pigment, it's thicker in the trade paints which means the paint is thicker and covers in less coats, some DIY paints can take four coats to cover to the desired finish, trade paints will take two, and there's less chance of scuffing and marking, most painters can get trade discount of couple throw with less coats needed and trade paint pays for itself. I always apply a third coat whatever on the rolling side of painting just to ensure the best finish... Hope this clears up the question so many of you ask, it's not worth buying cheap DIY store paint at all

There's been a lot of enquiries and a bit of misunderstanding about waste disposal, so here's the view from the professionals. As a company we are not going to give anyone a photocopy of our waste disposal licence as it could be kept and misused by a rogue operator. This does happen, rogue operators get hold of a genuine licence and use it to fly tip, which still leaves the original waste owner liable for any fines. Simply asking to view the waste disposal licence is all well and good; however it could be a fake and you don't have any proof of a legal disposal, you could still your waste fly tipped and yourselves fined. The only way to cover yourselves is to obtain an invoice or receipt for the items disposed of, on this invoice/receipt it should clearly state what has been removed and the company name and operator name, you then ask to view the operators picture ID, such as driving licence, that way you are covered properly, and once you have this invoice/receipt the waste is that companies/persons responsibility, on the paperwork it needs to state, waste to be taken for proper and legal disposal. Fly tipping affects us all and is a nuisance, we do waste disposal properly and legally; however not everyone does and the authorities have made it clear that they fully intend on clamping down on illegal waste disposal, so please be very careful.
