Kathryn Carlisle
I am a certified British Wheel of Yoga teacher with 14 years experience. Influenced predominantly , by Iyengar teachings, with a focus on detail and alignment, My holistic and dynamic approach also draws on many schools of yoga.
I love yoga as there is always something new to learn. I travel to India every year to build on my knowledge and to gain inspiration from my teachers.
I truly believe yoga is for everyone and my classes reflect this. My lessons are suitable for a mix of abilities and positions can be modified to suit your needs.
I ensure lessons are always interesting and fun by focusing on the different areas of the body and finding different ways of doing this. When you leave at the end of the session I aim for you to feel more supple stronger, happier and calmer. If you have a passion for yoga or are a complete beginner you will always feel welcome.

This workshop is open to everyone, but is not suitable for complete beginners, pregnant women, anyone with a current neck injury or HPB. Headstand, "Sirsasana", is often referred to as the king of yoga poses, it is one that many people are drawn to, but which they also find challenging. During this workshop, we will look at the main musles that are involved in the headstand pose, and also how to connet and strengthen these musles, during other areas of our yoga practie, preparing our body for a safe headstand. We will spend time in the workshop focusing on particular poses and excersises, this is to strengthen our upper-back, core musles and also leg muscles. This is essential for safley entering and perfecting a safe headstand with ease and stability. We will look and different ways of entering headstand, trying different variations and also exploring the importance of allignment within the pose, as one aligned, the poses beomes lighter, and also easier to sustain for a longer period of time. As you learn to stabalise your base, and also strengthen and engage the shoulder gurdle, and access your core muscles, you will gain confidene and ease withing the pose and free your mind and body from the fear of being upside down! Inverted poses have deep healing properties and also help to strengthen ones mind/body onnetion, facing our fears on the mat can offer us the gift of empowerment, joy and clarity in our daily lifes.
