Forge Stables
Description
Husband and wife team, John and Debbie, are pleased to announce the opening of Forge Stables, based in Nottinghamshire. Forge Stables offers DIY, part and full livery to the local equestrian community. Tack/feed store next door. Forge stables is set in 13 acres of land with spectacular views of the Nottinghamshire country side. We are a quiet, friendly yard aiming to have happy horses with happy owners. We have a yard worming programme which includes use of feacal egg counts in order to avoid unnecessary use of chemicals, coordinate shared visits for the vet, dentist, physio etc. and also have regular visits from a reputable dressage trainer. You are free to bring in your own instructor as well.
The yard is adult friendly.
We offer all year turn out, 24 hour summer grazing, a secure and alarmed tack room, and a lit sand school. The fields can be ridden and jumped in when the weather is good and there is access to fabulous hacking including routes along the river and down the Southwell trail. We are within hacking distance of local riding club shows and also an indoor competition centre.
We have forty years experience of horse ownership and have studied for BHS qualifiations. John is a registred farrier and Debbie has an BSc (Hons) in Equine Science. We both compete(d) at national level and support out daughter to do the same.
The land is fenced with a mixture of post and rail, hedge and posts with electric wire. Turn out can be individual or in small groups.
Straw, hay and haylage can all be purchased on site. The local tack and feed store can meet all other shopping needs and is just a wheelbarrow journey away. There is hard standing for trailer and lorry parking. There is a toilet onsite, tea and coffee making facilities and we are situated close to a bus route.

Summer MUST be on its way. I've spent a fortune doing online entries this week, some of which are for shows in June. Yes June!! And as much as that feels like forever away, look at this... this little lad almost has a summer coat.
Throw back Thursday. In a few weeks it will be a whole year since my gorgeous Exmoor, Moonpenny Aquarius, joined our family. Running two livery yards and being a mum of three means that riding often takes a back seat, but even with less training and saddle time than I would like, this little gem keeps giving me some wonderful times out competing. Here he is meeting his field mate for the first time.
Blueberry muffins and black tea 👌
Not much more work to be done and then I can lay the membrane! 🤞🏻
Looking forward to doing a spot of this tomorrow.

Our smallest resident, and her retired friend. Such gentle ladies, taking a rare treat from my mini-me.
Boxing Day on the beach. It was freezing! Hoping for a sunny and warm trip there this summer.

Super grateful to the helpers on the yard this weekend. Without you I couldn't take time away to compete in winter. I hope the sun shines for you. #myruralbusiness

Why do welders never come with a plug already on? Good job I listened at school. #myruralbusiness #diaryofafarrierswife #forgeandchistables

I currently have space for two part or full liveries. If you'd like to join our team of liveries please get in touch. Matching your horse and your outfit to your friend is not an essential requirement! Pair or small group turn out. Top quality haylage. Horses cared for as if they are my own. Space for trailer/lorry parking. Credit to @_emily.hubbard for the photo. #forgeandchistables #myruralbusiness

Disappointing to realise that I've only been able to remove 3 things off my jobs list over the last few weeks. Some came off, but now they are back on again as need doing again 🙈why doesn't tack jut stay clean 😂

Where would I be without you @parispeaches ? Superb feed room tidy ✅ Thank you 😊 There's room for a new livery now! #myruralbusiness #30dayruralbusiness #dreamteam #forgeandchistables

Even when I’m partially blinded and feeling crap, this little lady still manages to cheer me up 💕 . #polopony #27yearsold
