Some more photos from our civic reception receiving the Queens Award for Voluntary Service, the MBE for charities. IFRA are the only International Fire and Rescue charity to have been awarded this honour by HM Queen Elizabeth.
Last month we posted that an Ex Firefighter from Fife now living in the Philippines was looking for School Uniform for the children in the north of the country the response was amazing we got bags of kit. Kevin Murphy and his wife Ella came to Scotland on a quick visit and came to Thornton today to sort out the logistics. Many thanks for all the support and although this is not our core work we are helping some children in need. IFRA are happy to help out Kev and Ella.

Last night we were honoured to be presented with the Queens Award for Voluntary Service, this award is the MBE for charities, no higher award can be given in the UK. IFRA are the only International Fire Service Charity in the UK to be awarded this EVER. Due to the dedication and hard work of YOU our volunteers we have became the biggest charity of this kind in Scotland. The support we have UK wide from Emergency service's and companies ensures IFRA will continue to grow and help those who need it. Our volunteers were given the biggest honour last night and you all make me proud of you all and what you do. The hours, sacrifice and hard work that you all give to make sure Firefighters and Emergency services worldwide get the help they need is amazing. Thank you all past and present members.
