X-ray's show what a difference Hydrotherapy can make to a dog.

I had stopped posting when we lost a customers loved pet, it was always so hard to find the right words but tonight I have to make an exception, tonight I have heard from some people who became friends and whose dog I totally loved, she was the bravest little thing you ever saw, not one leg worked properly and when she moved it was like an octopus falling out of a tree, she was a disco diva. She was virtually rescued by the kindest family who gave her everything and then some more besides. When all else was failing in her early life and on the point of the last trip she came to us, that was 9 years ago, she had multiple joint issues that no one ever got to the bottom of and she overcame that she had a spinal problem and we all overcame that, she was terrified of the vets and that too was conquered. What Sandy had was heart and more than any dog before she had spirit and a family that would sell their house if needed to care for her. These are the people we attract to the centre they are our friends. I cried today as if she was mine, a little bit of her felt lodged in my heart as well. Rest now Sandy, wobble around up there and cause chaos, YOU were the reason we did this and if I do nothing else in the rehab world watching you grow old is more than I could have ever hoped. Kate and Pete are superstars and if I can be half the owner they were my dogs will be alright.

So here it is, as promised the hot weather, remember guys it kills dogs faster than a vet on steroids, Hot cars are death traps, walking in the height of the sun is a killer, playing hard on the garden can be just as bad as a really hard walk/run. Lots of fresh cold water, ice cubes in the bowl, fans are brilliant for keeping our mates cool, even spray the dogs with a cold hose till they are soaked, they will love you for it, and so will we ... Its that time of year again! Good luck to all of our friends who are competing at the" Greatest Dog Show in the World" CRUFTS starts today until Sunday with Hounds and Terriers on today. You go guys, bring back the prizes but most of all have a fab time.
