What is the rush? Well the Mad Hatter is probably in a hurry to see if there is any of Clara's birthday cake left from the #birthdayparty on Sunday. Mad hatters hosts Clara's first birthday party What fun we had on Sunday as it was a double first. First birthday for Clara Dawson (Doug & Ella's lovely daughter) and the first birthday party held Mad Hatter's Cafe Bistro. Sandwiches, cakes, biscuits and crisps with lots to drink and that was just for the parents. As you can see in the picture we made a lovely games area that allowed all Clara's friends to dance and play and sing songs led by Ella. Doug had baked a lovely cake and what was wonderful we collected some money for Noah's Ark Children's Hospital Charity. Well it looks like the March Hare has been hibernating since the snow started but with a bit of sunshine he has risen from his slumber and is raring to go. In truth hares don't hibernate but just slow down when the weather is cold and that is my excuse. Mad Hatters Wednesday Wonderland It is almost March and we should be looking for Springtime Hares but how can you expect them to be out in the snow! Mad Hatters Monday Moment Well it was a very ‘event-full’ week. Pancakes on Tuesday, Valentines on Wednesday, and to top it all a musical evening on Thursday. For the second consecutive year we were proud to host a lovely group of saxophonists. So, does anyone know the collective noun for a group of saxophonists or do you have any suggestions? Please be careful with your responses! It was a brilliant evening and you can hear a little of what went on in the short video clip below. On the night Suzanne Davis posted a few pictures as well. And that was followed up by two great tea parties on Saturday. Just as a reminder our opening hours are: Monday Closed Tuesday – Friday Open 9am – 5pm Saturday Open 9am – 5pm We are continuing our speciality scone this week and it will be ‘blueberry’. However, the demand we had last week for the ‘Cheddar Cheese’ scone was so good that it will also be available on the ‘Specials Menu’.
