Alzheimer’s Society – united against dementia

Dementia Awareness Week is just around the corner! Regular physical exercise can have a positive effect on reducing your risk of developing dementia as well as positive benefits for those living with dementia. At our BETTER Leisure Centres and in the community of Taunton and Wellington we offer a range of exercise opportunities for those living with dementia including: Swimming - over 50's and disability swimming sessions are available at Blackbrook Leisure Centre and Spa and Taunton Pool. Walking - join our health walk groups in Taunton and Wellington. Dance - line dancing and social dancing at Blackbrook. Community CPR and Defib training The Vivary Adventure Centre has recently had a community defibrillator installed and Sue Gunstone (Duty supervisor) is training members of the public on how to apply CPR and use a defibrillator at a time in need. We are currently looking for casual Catering Assistants to join the team at Vivary Adventure Centre. The catering team at Vivary pride themselves on delivering an effective and efficient service with high levels of quality service by way of preparation, serving and delivery of fresh food and drinks, so you'll need to be just as passionate as they are. Ideally, you'll have previous experience working as a Catering Assistant with good customer care skills. A Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate would be beneficial but full training will be provided. This is a busy environment so the ability to work well under pressure is essential.
