The quarry is operating already. Out with the approved area with no noise monitoring going on, extraction taking place at the same time as crushing. We need them to supply us with hearing protection because the noise levels are so high.
So planning permission has been granted without the application being referred to Formartine Area Committee. The planning officers said that Tarves Community Council had not objected, but the letter of objection is available on the Aberdeenshire Council website! Something fishy is going on here.
When is a quarry not a quarry? When it's Haddo Quarry. Nope, no sand and gravel extraction going on here. Noise levels over 80dB!
