Description
Synchronised swimming (synchro) is an exciting mixture of swimming, dance and gymnastics performed in the water Who is synchro suited to?
Because it demands great water skills, strength, endurance, and flexibility, synchro is a great way to get fit as well as learn something new and have a lot of fun. Roughly two-thirds of a synchronised swimming routine is performed under water. So you will need to feel completely comfortable in and under the water. You will also need strong swimming skills. If this is you then can give synchronised swimming a go.
How do I give it a go?
Any person who wants to get involved should contact their local synchronised swimming club and attend an adult taster session. They last about an hour and you will learn all the basics of synchro such as swimming to music, speed swimming and sculling (the hand movements that propel, stabilise, and balance a swimmer's body).
Why not pop along to see them train or enquire about joining and having a taster session to see if it is for you!
