OYSTERS - 10th Anniversary in Business We opened our doors here at Oysters on Feb. 2nd, 2007, &, very tentatively at that, I might add. It was an exciting but terrifying experience for us, wondering if we could make it work. However, the old motto, "If you don't try, you'll never know" spurred us on. It has been an amazing 10 years, a huge learning curve and plenty of challenges along the way. The highs certainly override the lows though on every level. We've been crowned 'Northern Ireland Restaurant of the Year' 3 times in that period, together with a host of other awards / accolades. I would like to pay tribute to my husband Kevin for making this possible. His diligence and impeccable work ethic are unparalleled, if only he recognised that in himself!!!! We also have an incredible team behind us who deliver the dining experience that you have come to know & appreciate. Every single individual among you play your role in attaining the standards that have been set for you. Kevin may be a 'task master' but we both value & respect the efforts you make on our behalf daily. A huge thank you. I would like to pay special tribute to our daughter, Michaela, who has worked effortlessly for the restaurant along the way, starting off as a completely in-experienced novice to becoming the extremely competent manager she is today. We wish her well in her own journalism career now and are eternally grateful that she chooses still to work the business at Oysters when available. Must be in the blood! However, the key to our success has undoubtedly been the phenomenal support we have had from our customers over the years. Many of you have become loyal & personal friends. We appreciate each & everyone of you & could never have made it to 10 years without you. By way of celebration, we have planned a year of celebratory events and competitions, which we hope you enjoy.
