At lunchtime today, our GCSE Geography students, along with Mrs Baxter, Mr Lewis and Ms Heald, left for the weekend to go complete their field work at Overstrand Hall in Norfolk. This field work visit is a compulsory element of their GCSE. The students will get a chance to see what Geography field work is like and will get expert teaching throughout the visit provided by the field study centre staff. In support of Sport Relief this year, we are going to be selling the official Sport Relief wristbands tomorrow and Monday. Our Academy Sports Captains will be walking around to all registration groups selling the wristbands for a £1 donation. We are so proud of our Year 9 Aspire students for completing their Aspire Course. We understand that there have been some issues with the online options programme and we apologise for that. However, most of these technical issues have now been resolved and finger crossed the programme is working for you all now. As you may know in November some of our students took part in a Read for Good Readathon organised by Mr Branchsmith. The fundraiser was a big hit and we cannot thank the students enough for taking part and for all the donations we received. We recently received our certificate for our fundraising and we raised a whopping £294 in just half a day! This money will go to children hospitals all over the country, helping to supply books for the children. Mr Branchsmith also got his own thank you from the Read for Good team for his efforts in organising the readathon. And, as even more of a thank you, the Read for Good and the Scholastic UK teams gave us a £58.80 voucher so we can buy some more new books for our Library! Thank you so much to all again!
