Argyle Tennis Club situated in Southport, Merseyside caters to all ages from 3-veterans and abilities from beginners to avid players. Argyle Lawn Tennis Club is one of the premier grass roots tennis clubs in Lancashire. Argyle LTC has been home to the prestigious North of England Championships where it attracted some of the best tennis players in the country, to holding county championships attracting all the best county players to the event to District and team events.
Over the past 12 years, Argyle under the award winning coaching leadership of Terry Parkes and Jo Donnelly have developed strong junior and adult programs for members to access. Argyle Tennis Club is LTA and Sport England CLUBMARK accredited, proving the clubs ability to be managed in a professional, safe and well-being environment.
JUNIOR PROGRAM:
Mini Tennis Red - Ages 8 and Under -
Mini Tennis Orange- Ages 9 and Under
Mini Tennis Green - Ages 10 and Under
What is mini tennis? Mini tennis makes use of smaller court and equipment as well as softer balls which makes learning tennis easier and a lot more fun. Mini Tennis is the format used by the LTA and around the world.
FULL Ball Tennis - Ages 11-18. Ability ranges from Beginners->Improvers to County Standard Players.
As well as GROUP Coaching Activities for the above, we also offer:
- INDIVIDUAL lessons
- MATCHPLAY
- Junior Teams into Local and County Leagues which makes competing in tennis more fun in a fun, friendly TEAM atmosphere.
- In addition as part of the Junior Membership, juniors can access FREE Social Tennis in a weekly junior club night on Friday Evenings.

Argyle Tennis Club is the ONLY dedicated tennis club that offers a wide range of other activities in a fun and safe family environment. These activities include:
- TABLE TENNIS (Adult and Junior Teams and Social Play with 3 Tables available)
- SNOOKER (Adult Teams and Social Play Available to Members)
- A Brand NEW Sports Hall that will offer indoor gym activities in addition to indoor mini tennis.
SPECIAL OCCASIONS:
Argyle Tennis Club also offers a Function Room, Lounge and Bar available for HIRE for special occasions and events such as weddings, birthdays, christenings, parties and a whole host of sporting activities.

Thanks to Rachael Jones for organising the food, enjoyed by everyone, followed by the many games and entertainment arranged by Karen Thompson. Tracy, Judy and Johnny for working the bar, just like old times. Congratulations to all on receiving their awards and trophies. Too many to mention all by name, but check out some of the photos.
The Argyle annual presentation evening and Xmas get together is on Friday 1st December, commencing 7pm. We will celebrate 2017 with the awards from our Adult and Junior tournaments. Please make sure you have signed up for this event to secure your place for this social occasion.
The Southport and district leagues held their presentation evening last night. Congratulations to Luke Golding, Will Jones, Lucie Jones and Lydia Thompson on winning their respective leagues and collecting trophies for the 10 and under, and the 16 and under leagues. Our 14 and under team also collected their runners up medals. Ben Coates, Jack Golding, Annabel Riding and Ruby Hughes.

More results from finals day. We beat the weather! Including the tail end of the onset of a tropical storm! Storming to a double winning both 10under and 12 under boys Luke Golding holding off hurricane Will Jones. Ruby Hughes demonstrates fear maturity in taking the girls 12under singles. Tim Jones entertains in holding off Tony Dodgins in the men's plate singles. Tim also partners Lucie Jones to the mixed doubles championship. Dave Hall and Adrian Hyland win a very entertaining men's doubles, whilst Elise Bond and Judy Brennan persevere to win the ladies doubles. Ian Gilston & Miro Sajan display their maturity in taking the men's plate doubles, whilst Rachael Jones & Angela Dodgins win the ladies plate doubles. Tracy Thistlethwaite and Dan Jassi complete a hard fought victory in the mixed doubles plate final. A few junior finals remain outstanding and results will follow. Well done to all our competitors and thanks to the spectators.
Strictly Tennis! Great finals day at the club today. From our 8& under through to adults, some great matches and entertainment for the spectators. Tim Molton rolling back the years to become our men's champion. Elise Bond, hot on the heals of passing her first coaching qualifications, takes the ladies final. Ben Coates shows grit and determination in taking the boys singles, whilst Annabel Riding wins a hard fought girls singles. Amongst our younger competitors, Harrison Coates does a double in the 8 & 9 under singles. Many other results to follow shortly for all age groups singles and doubles.
