Saint George opened it's doors on St. George's Day, April 23rd 1959. It opened as a mixed school but became a boys only school in the 70's.
The school became a mixed school once again in 2013. Currently the school are celebrating it's best GCSE grades ever with 72% gaining A* - C in English and Maths.

Back in April we entered students into the Schools Bible Project, a national RE competition. Saint George student Jaime Pereda came third nationally for his essay. Yesterday he went to the Houses of Parliament with his parents and music teacher Sarah Keogh to collect his prize. The prize was presented by Baroness Cox and Joanna Bogle.
A reminder that the Friends of Saint George Meeting is tomorrow at 7pm in the Fleming Arms for Christmas drinks. All are welcome to attend.

Reminder that tomorrow is Pink Day. Students can wear non school uniform provided they wear pink and bring £1 for charity.
All are welcome at our TeachMeet event on Tuesday 28th November, here at St George Catholic College, Southampton. The event will be run in the style of a "market place", where contributors can showcase their chosen area of practice, and colleagues can freely chat and liaise with each other, sharing their knowledge and expertise in Teaching and Learning. This event is run by the Southampton Education Forum.
