Kyusho Sheffield
Description
Quick, Easy, and Extremely Effective self-defence
Ideal for beginners & experienced martial artists wanting to enhance their skills... The majority of modern martial arts / self defence schools are very much sport based, with some self-defence thrown in.
Having trained for over 20 years, we appreciate how valuable a grounding this has been, however these days lifestyles have changed to the point where people no longer have time for such commitment.
This is where we come in...
Kyusho (also known as Kyusho-Jitsu, Dim Mak, Atemi, Pressure Point Fighting, among many others), is effectively a targetting system, that utilises the many weaknesses of the human body to cause physical dysfunction to an attacker. It is an extremely effective method of causing pain, and even unconsciousness, with almost no effort.
With over 300 points to choose from (each round the size of a 10 pence piece), these easily accessible targets can be struck, pressed, pulled, pushed, or even grappled, providing a limitless set of options in a confrontation. These principles are so effective, they are used by law enforcement and military personnel across the globe.
Kyusho has been shrouded in mystery for many years, with it's most deadly techniques concealed within ancient movements known as Kata / Form / Pattern, etc. (dependant on style). The use of these targets is still evident in all modern martial arts, though rarely taught in the reqquired level of detail - either because the Instructor is unaware, or refuses to pass on this valuable knowledge - This results in ineffective technique and lacking confidence in the student.
Over the years these pre-arranged movements have been modified many times resulting in many cases, the original interpretations being lost...
...Thankfully, through scientific research, study of the human body, and practice, experts around the world have helped piece these back together creating a truly devastating martial art*.
*Please Note - You do not have to be a martial artist to learn these techniques. Kyusho can be learned alone, or can enhance ones existing style. Many of our students are non-martial artists looking for a quick and easy self-protection method.
We have been fortunate enough to train with some of the world's best, on a regular basis, and we look forward to sharing both the history, understanding and practicality of these techniques to help you keep yourself and your family safe.
