Hi everyone, We would firstly like to say a MASSIVE thank you to Greg Martin at Pet Parties Limited for raising our charity £50.00 for our much needed UV lighting fund! We now have £360.00 total and need another £140.00 to reach our TARGET before Christmas. John at Prestwood Petzone has very kindly asked us instore today to help promote our cause and give advice to both existing and potential new owners, so why not pop over and have a chat. Don't forget to have a go on our instore raffle with a chance at winning a beautiful Tarantula display; an ideal Christmas present for any arachnid enthusiast! All funds raised going towards our UV fund. Thank you everyone for your support.

Meet Ruban! Ruban is a Corn snake who was found a couple of years ago and his owner was never found, we are not sure whether he was abandoned or an escapee, however he has been in our care ever since. This sweet animal had some difficulty eating initially, but has since come on leaps and bounds. Ruban’s growth has been slow but recent spurts have meant that we have had to upgrade his accommodation, however he is nowhere near adult size yet. Ruban is suited to first time owners and experienced people alike. For full adoption details or if you would like to view him. Please get in touch.

Well it's that time of year again where tortoise owners are able to bring their shelled friends for a thorough looking over. Don't forget, hibernation is a dangerous time of year for tortoises. Pre-hibernation health checks are essential to ensuring your animal is in optimum health before going into hibernation. Non hibernating species are also very welcome. So why not pop along for a chat. Our FREE health check service is designed to help both long term existing tortoise owners, and people who are relatively new and may need a little advice. We are at the bottom of Catholic Lane in Sedgley and there is a car park next door with ample room at Brockswood Animal Sanctuary.

Hello everyone, The Proteus Rehoming centre will be closed tomorrow (Saturday 26th August) as we are attending the Dog Show and Family Fun day at Brockwood Animal Sanctuary. We will have some reptiles on show and will be raising funds to replace our old UV Lighting. Last year we spent just over £500.00 on UV lighting and estimate it to be more this year with the addition of extra enclosures. We will be doing a Raffle and selling bits and pieces down by the Café; however we will also be in site's classroom and have second hand reptile products to purchase as well as reptiles to see. We would like to say a MASSIVE thank you to everyone who has donated prizes for our raffle and items to sell on our stall. We are hoping it to be a really successful day. Raffle prizes are as follows: 1st Prize - £25.00 Amazon Voucher 2nd Prize - A bottle of Champagne 3rd Prize - A doggy hamper Other prizes include: A Disney Dinosaur cuddly toy, a few mixed hampers, bottles of wine, Lavender M&S pamper set and MORE. We will be drawing the winners of our raffle between 3:30pm and 4pm. PLEASE come along and support us!! We hope to see you tomorrow.

Hello everyone, We are going to be attending the Dog Show at Brockswood Animal Sanctuary on the 26th August and wondered if anyone had any unwanted items which we could raffle off on the day? We are hoping to raise some money to go towards the £500 we desperately need to replace all of our UV lighting. UV lighting is essential in promoting and maintaining healthy bone growth in many reptiles. Unfortunately after a period of time (time period varies depending on brand); the UVB radiation in the specialist lighting starts to degrade and eventually disappears completely. If anyone has anything they would like to donate we would be extremely grateful. So far we have had some bottles of wine and a gift voucher donated!
