Morning all... Another point which has been raised by another local studio is "public skin" There is a common request from mainly young males, wanting what is referred to as public skin tattooing for their first tattoo. Public skin is face, neck, hands, and to an extent, forearms. (Forearms are often a good tester as to whether you should/can continue with more public skin) Most respectable tattoo artists will not and should not tattoo public skin for your first tattoo, especially at a young age. Until a person has lived with a tattoo for a while and know it is definately what they want and not a problem in their social and professional life should they consider public skin. So when you walk into our studio and we try our best to advise you from our collective years in this industry, please take it on board. If we are taking the time to try and impart a little bit of wisdom rather than just taking your money, there must be a good reason for it. We as artists also do not HAVE to tattoo you just because you want it or have walked into our studio. It is at our discretion. Just because your mummy said you can get it doesn't mean we will do it. morning everyone. Just wanted to clarify something that has been asked several times recently. The required legal age for a tattoo in the uk is 18. This is not affected by parental consent or religious belief Or your dogs death. It is illegal to tattoo anybody under the age of 18 and can be classified as assault on a minor.
