The Scalloway Youth Centre is a local based charity, home in Scalloway for Youth Clubs, Pre School, Rainbow/Brownies, Café Church , The Scalloway Youth Centre is the only purpose built Youth Centre on Shetland. The doors were opened 20 years ago in 1996 and has since gone from strength to strength.
We offer a range of services including a Peerie Club for children from P1 to P3, A Youth Café Project for young people ages 10 and up (S1+), a 60+ group, a house band and music Project.
External groups also hire the centre on a weekly basis including the SIC Youth Club on Wednesday evenings, other music bands and music teachers. Adult learning also use the Centre as does a Yoga and Photography group. The building can also be hired out for parties and meetings. This can be done by

Junior and Senior youth clubs starts tomorrow 28th August at 6.15 to 8pm for primary 4 to 7 and senior S1and up from 8 to 9.45pm. Primary 7’s can stay in until 9pm. The memberships are due and can be paid that night upstairs from 6pm until 8pm for Youth Clubs, Youth Cafe and Peerie Club

We are open this Saturday at 6.30pm until 10pm everyone 10 years and up welcome. Hot food, fun and a great place to meet your friends with great staff. Come along and try it! The Peerie club is on at 3pm until 4.30pm from children in P1,2 and 3, all welcome. The houseband will meet at 1.30pm until 3pm The Junior and Senior youth clubs start on Wednesday 28th and memberships can be paid upstairs that night for all clubs

👥 Diabetes Discussion Groups 👥 - we want to hear your story! - . Hi everyone, Fern here👋. I'm holding discussion groups across Shetland over the next few months, looking at people's experiences with type 2 diabetes (and related type 2 diabetes risk conditions) and I would love to have you along to one of them. . The photos attached have details on why we're doing the groups and what this will involve. . So far we have three dates in based in Lerwick and two dates TBC up in Brae during August-September. . Some places left on the Lets Dance workshops this week starting today Monday at 2.30pm for children 5 to 9 and evening for children 10 plus ( 9 year olds can come at night if they prefer) night times are 6 to 9pm. £15 for the week and just come along and complete form and pay on the day
