Description
Traditional real ale freehouse with microbrewery on site. Dog friendly community pub in a village location with open fires and wood-fired pizza oven in our spacious beer garden.
On the Nottingham Skyline bus route - ask for Sawley Square. We are a family owned freehouse close to Sawley Marina, housed in a beautiful historic building which dates back to 1752. We have a large car park and a mixture of open & sheltered seating in our sizeable beer garden.
We offer 8 quality cask ales, 6 real ciders & a comprehensive wine list alongside the usual tipples. Many of our ales come from the Old Sawley Brewing Co, a microbrewery based on site.
We're a proudly dog-friendly pub, with fresh water, dog biscuits, poop bags & bins on offer.
With wood-fired pizza available in our recently refurbished beer garden at the weekends and freshly made filled rolls & cold meat products from our local butcher on the bar every day you won't go hungry.
Free venue hire is available for up to 45 people in our function room, please call to book.

facebook.comAfter the threat of frost has gone we’re bringing down some Belfast sinks from our old house that are literally out of the family kitchen, I took them out myself, while Jim was at work, was in trouble that day, supporting wall?! We are going to grow some gin swirly bits & pieces. I have plenty of ideas but any unusual suggestions would be more than welcome! It’ll be the only bit of the pub that dogs aren’t allowed, might need to build a fence hubby!
The new gins have arrived. Tried the Sharish GIN magic colour changing one last night with Fever-Tree tonic, it's interesting & delicious. Enjoy & Happy Easter!
We’ve changed the astroturf part of the outdoor space to be a smoking zone today as it’s separated by a solid wall from the pizza oven & until now if you do smoke & want to be undercover there was nowhere to eat. Please use the ashtrays provided & not the astroturf. The alley alongside the right of the pizza oven due to food hygiene regulations has to be no smoking so please utilise the new area, thanks & happy Easter all!
Bar billiards has been around since the 1930s and it's still alive and well here at The White Lion!
