We hope you’re excited about tonight’s stargazing event at Crawick Multiverse, 7-9pm. The forecast is excellent, with clear skies predicted all night! http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2652056 As a result of the clear skies it will be very cold, possibly close to freezing, so make sure you wrap up warm, with plenty of layers, hats, gloves, thick socks etc. We also suggest you wear stout waterproof footwear (wellies are great, or walking boots) as some parts of the Multiverse are a little bit soggy after recent rain. And of course it will be dark, so bring a torch if you have one. (We have plenty, but you might feel safer using your own). Finally, if you have binoculars please feel free to bring them, as there are plenty of amazing binocular objects up there for us to explore. See you in a few hours! There are still places so book or you can pay at the site when you come up.

Look up over the next few nights for a chance to spot a shooting star, as part of the Orionids meteor shower. The peak of the shower occurs overnight between 21 and 22 October but the days on either side should see some activity too! If you want to maximise your chances of seeing some meteors then head somewhere dark, away from town and city lights, Crawick Multiverse is perfect for it. You don't need any special equipment - just use your eyes - but a reclining deck chair makes for a more comfortable experience, and saves you straining your neck. If you get clear, dark skies then you might be lucky enough to see a shooting star every ten minutes or so. The best time to head out meteorwatching is between midnight and dawn (sorry!).
