At the end of a fantastic first camp, we would just like to say a big well done to all the kids and thank you for being such a pleasure to have !! It’s been a great few days and I’ll do a full report to follow but pictured is Jane & lucy who came 1st and 2nd in the jumping at saltburn on Friday night. It was lovely to see all the pony camp kids have a go at a show !! Can’t wait for the next camp when we are taking them to the next show 😁

Pictured are Becca & krissie age 3, Catching twinkle from the field, making up her feed and giving her it (remains all over the floor), mucking her out and grooming her (hoof oil in the pic) all done by a 3 year old in the freezing cold winter. She has always had to muck out, groom, feed and exercise her own ponies. It’s not all about the fun side of jumping and competing. You have got to be prepared to get dirty. It’s not someone else’s job to look after your pony. If you want to go competing you clean your own tack and pony. That’s not your parents responsibility. Parents already do more then enough, they don’t need to look after your ponies as well. I’ve only ever done my kids ponies if They’re really ill. There is always enough time in a day. You can do it before or/and after school/day out. You will never get to experience the real connection with a pony till you do all the aspects of looking after it. Also at 7yrs They would both catch and tack up a 17hh Clydesdale on their own. There is always a way around a problem. There was no “I can’t reach” They would just stand on a grooming box or water bucket. If you love doing it enough there is never a “I can’t”. A few people won’t agree with this but In my opinion you should look after your own pony.
Who remembers Twinkle ? Lived to a Grand age of 43 and pictured here with a 3 year old krissie that absolutely adored her ❤️
