We had a run out of about 70 miles on the lovely quiet roads around here. We stopped in two of the most beautiful villages in France. All bikes went well. Couldn't resist having a fast blast on the Rocket Three on the way back.

Got friends round so another bike needs to come out of it's packing case. MKIII Spitfire which was featured in this months Real Classic magazine. Both bikes started up after a battery change on the Spitfire. I had a tracker on it when we moved house and it drained the battery over the months it was in the case.

We are organising another rally for British but mainly BSA bikes on the weekend 10 to 12 June. The roads round here are beautiful and very quiet. You need to save some time to explore on the way down and back. Chris and I will be glad to see some friends and old customers down here. The weather should be really good, but if not, bunkhouse style acommodation can be found.

Put some strip lights in the cellar. Painted some of the walls and started putting up the dexion shelving we brought with us, to put tools and parts on. Need to set up my workshop in the cellar as that will be where most of the work will get done. It is warm

Yesterday I went for the first run of the year. We have family over at the moment. There are 5 seats in the car and 6 of us. So we could all go out together I volunteered to go on one of the bikes. I know it is a crap job, but somebody has to do it. As Grandad, I took one for the family. It was about 2 degrees C but sunny, and with the winter gear on it was fine. No salt on the roads so so need to clean the bike as soon as I got back. Bike is pictured outside the house after the run out. It was so bad I volunteered to do the same today. And then it snowed overnight. We have a single track railway ( just like Beeching closed in the UK in the 60's) and the station 100 yards from the house so some of us are going into Brive on the train and some in the car, to ferry us about when we get there.
Going to try to get another bike out of its crate soon and get some shelving up in the cellar workshop. It is so frustrating searching through the packing boxes for my tools. Need to put some time to one side but still plenty to do in the house.

Today I've mostly been changing plugs. (acknowledgement to the Fast Show) It is surprising how many electrical appliances you have. Changed 25 so far and haven't even opened all our removal boxes. Tinned the ends for better conductivity on all appliances taking a bit of current. Still have to put a British style trailing socket in each bedroom for visitors to use. Not even got to the workshop tools of which there are many. Good job the plugs are fairly cheap.Too chilly to go into the workshop with the snow.
