Raphael Park. Education, Events and Activities
Description
The Raphael Park Manager aims to deliver a wide range of events and activities aimed at connecting people with their local green spaces.
Formal Education sessions are also available and will be delivered by our Outdoor Learning Practitioner for schools. Raphael Park is a historical public park with heritage dating back to the 18th Century. Initially the park belonged to Henry Raphael, a British barrister and Liberal party politician, but the over the years he donated several acres to the Local Essex Council until the park was opened to the public in 1904.
Since then the park has been enjoyed my many generations and is still thriving today.
The aim is to incorporate formal and informal outdoors education sessions to get Children more involved in their local green spaces.
In addition to this, the Officer will also be coordinating volunteer activities in the park to help; encourage wildlife, increase public participation, run educational events and manage the park
If you are interested in outdoors education or want to become a Volunteer then please contact Taylor Smyth-Richards with the information provided on this page.
