Just finished watching this great one hour video at Romford Deaf Club from 1992 to about 1998 ? with Joe and Ethel Wright and their fabulous parties. Kiddies Xmas parties and Deaf club parties ...This video started 24 years ago, times have changed and the premises have been sold, thanks heaps to Denzil Jones ( Ethel and Joe's grandson ) for sharing this one. Watch this space as more to come https://youtu.be/Wj6627waG1E

Question from many people WHY ROMFORD DEAF CLUB CLOSE DOWN ? Answer from Romford Deaf Club It was not Romford deaf club decision. RAD sold the building to a Nursery school for money to help RAD services. Older people group will look for new home in Romford and rent hall / kitchen so 80 - 120 club members can carry on meet every two weeks. We know this will be very hard as shortage in Romford but we will try our best.

Does anyone have photo's they would be willing to upload on here before we lose our history altogether ?
Sad .. Romford Deaf Club is closed from 14th April 2016 and has no home yet. Any suggestions for the older people's group to meet somewhere in Romford, any ideas ? THURSDAYS preferred. Please let us know. We want to keep the Older people's group alive ... it has 80 active members and 40 on a waiting list, this group could survive for a few more years. Anyone willing to come to club on 14th April to take some good photo's ? No farewell party planned as no one is ready for goodbyes ... everything in club has to go/ has already been sold or has a home to go to - there only a pool table to be sold now - photo's in the week.
