Kim Bap (Korean style vegetable sushi & seaweed roll Thinly sliced carrot, radish, spinach & egg omelette rolled in sticky rice & nori seaweed. Dumpling soup Pork dumplings in a spicy chicken broth. MAINS Saengtae Jiri (Stewed Pollock & vegetables) Not stewed as we would think but lightly poached with mushrooms & onion in a fish, chilli & soy flavoured stock. Oyi Jikau (Stir fried beef & cucumber) Thinly sliced beef marinated in soy, sugar & cayenne stir fried with cucumber & vegetables. We don’t think of cucumber as a vegetable to cook but along with lettuce & cress it is quite common in the east. Dak gal bi (Grilled spicy chicken with vegetables) The spice that this chicken is marinated in is chilli so is quite hot to calm it down it is topped with slices of cooling mango & served on a bed of steamed vegetables. Kimchi fried rice Kimchi are preserved (salted) vegetables one of the most popular being cabbage which is served as a side dish or added to other dishes as we are doing with our rice. SERVED WITH STEAMED VEGETABLES DESSERTS Baesook (Poached pears with peppercorns) Pear wedges studded with peppercorns poached in sugar syrup then sprinkled with nuts. Jat Juk (Cream of pine nut porridge) A smooth “porridge” made from rice flour & pureed pine nuts topped with sliced dates & drizzled with honey. Green tea Ice cream

Blinis Small buckwheat pancakes topped with sour cream & smoked fish Green vegetable soup A vegetable soup containing copious amounts of spinach nettles & watercress to give its green colour finished with of course sour cream MAINS Kasha Kasha has been a staple food of peasants for hundreds of years it is also a dish for special occasions it refers to a dish of meat or vegetables (in this case liver) & grain which resembles a porridge or mush, garnished with chopped hard boiled eggs. Starting this Wednesday WORLD CRUISE APRIL SPAIN STARTERS Tapas selection Tapas were created in Andalusia which is the wine-making region in the south of Spain. It is the custom to place a saucer on top of a glass of wine in order to keep the fruit flies out. A small amount of food placed on the dish helps attract clients to the wine bar. Please see the board for this evening’s selection Potato & mussel soup A thick creamy soup of fresh mussels & potato with a hint of garlic. MAINS Pollo a la Campesina A casserole of chicken, tomatoes, & sweet red peppers flavoured with garlic & thyme spiced with paprika & pepper, and finished with olives. Paella Spain’s most famous dish of seafood, vegetables & rice Peri peri kidneys Kidneys marinated in peri peri chilli & spices in a sherry tomato & mushroom sauce Served with Patatas con chirizo (potatoes with chorizo sausage) & Habas con espinacas y tomates (beans with spinach & tomatoes) DESSERTS Naranjas acarameladas Caramelised oranges, sliced sweet oranges coated with citrus flavoured caramel Leche frita Literally translated means fried milk and is a set milk custard cut into fingers & coated in breadcrumbs, deep fried & sprinkled with cinnamon sugar.
