Yoga does more than burn calories and tone muscles. It's a total mind-body workout that combines strengthening and stretching poses with deep breathing and meditation or relaxation. Why Should I Do Yoga? There are so many benefits of doing yoga. Yoga can help you: •improve and maintain the health of muscles, joints and organs •keep your mind healthy •get a better night’s sleep •improve performance and prevent injuries in sports •speed recovery from training •prevent conditions such as diabetes, heart disease and auto-immune disorders •slow down the negative effects of an office job •and increase your sense of happiness and well being. It’s a practice that is both physical exercise, helping improve toning, stamina, posture, strength, balance and flexibility, as well as a discipline that helps you de-stress, relax, feel healthier and more energetic. Yoga For Body Strength It is unlikely that you’ll think of yoga when you want to build body strength. Lifting weights at the gym is more commonplace while yoga is associated with flexibility and stretching. What you don’t know is, yoga incorporates your body weight to strengthen by movement instead of external objects like dumbbells. Amazing, right? This culmination of body science and mobility to strengthen your body is magical. Strength training through yoga has an added advantage of improving muscle flexibility, which helps you avoid injuries.
