Just a quick reminder - **INITIAL** Cushing's tests carry free lab fees at the minute so please get in touch if you have any concerns about your four legged friends. **Initial strictly means that the horse/pony can't previously have been tested for Cushing's even if with another lab/practice etc.**

We love breeding season here at Paragon Equine. These two (a sports horse filly and an Arabian colt) had a little interlude over the fence and were desperate to have play time together. It's so lovely having foals around, especially when the sun is shining!

Today Annie, our big showjumping friend, had her 28 day pregnancy scan. Annie conceived twins to artificial insemination with chilled semen and the weaker of the two was terminated at 14 days. This image is of her embryo lying in the uterus today. (Unfortunately we can't work the video setting to show you the strong heartbeat)

Yesterday, Gregor went out to visit Lucy Glitters and her new colt foal, Herbie! Herbie is a product of AI, which took place with us here at Newbiggin last summer. Lucy is very proud of Herbie and both are doing extremely well! We are currently well through our breeding season and looking forward to more pictures like this in 11 months time!

This is Flo and her big filly Belle (TBC). She was born yesterday morning at half 5 and is up and well! Belle was conceived through artificial insemination at Newbiggin by our equine team to a big American Irish Draught. We had one small dose due to the popularity of the sire but thankfully Flo held first time and Belle is the outcome! We are currently in the middle of our breeding season so hopefully creating more like little Belle!

Just a little reminder to our loyal clients that throughout May we are running a vaccination amnesty, supported by our vaccine provider MSD. A vaccination amnesty is a way to get your horses vaccination status back up to date at a reduced cost. For a limited period, we will offer both an initial vaccine and the second dose for the price of a single injection. Please note that the offer does NOT include any third dose of 'flu' vaccine.
