From January 2018 MKtennis will be running an indoor tennis coaching programme in Peebles. There will be sessions at Priorsford Primary on a Wednesday and Peebles Community Centre/ Drill Hall on a Friday. The term will run for 7 weeks, with the plan to return to the outdoor courts for a short 4 week block before the Easter holidays. Please find attached a copy of the programme. Spaces are limited as we are indoors so please sign up quickly to avoid disappointment. You can sign up using the online booking form: https://goo.gl/forms/ARESjZ1lW3g4GwiD2

Following on from the success of the BAT Tour once again this year Tennis Borders are looking to run two grade 5 singles events between Christmas and New Year at Selkirk Tennis Club. These will be U16 but we'd encourage all players from U12 and U14 age groups to consider entering as it is a relatively low tournament grading. These will be open events so with a bit of luck they will attract players from out with the region. As an added bonus, Tennis Borders would like to offer a tournament support package in addition to tournament entry for Borders players on behalf of the Tennis Borders Junior District programme. This will involve access to a training camp the day before the tournament and match charting for competitors during the tournament, where players will get access to stats, information and first hand comments from the coaches on at least two of their matches. The format is as follows; December 27th- 3 hour training camp at Selkirk Tennis Club December 28th- U16 Boys Singles event December 29th- U16 Girls Singles event The cost for the packages are as follows; Training Camp Only- £20 Match Charting Only - £10 Training Camp and Match Charting- £27.50 Please be aware that tournament entry fee is £12.50 on top of this and sign up for the tournament is online at https://www3.lta.org.uk/Competitions/Competition/?ctn=1-EA1BJ08 Competitors who would like to sign up for either of the tournament support packages should do so by contacting Elspeth Whitelaw by email (Address at the bottom of this post). The tournament support will be run by Borders coaches Al McCulloch, Jorge Cubero and Jonny Adamson with potential input from others if numbers are high. For those who do not want the tournament support but would like to enter the tournament then they can still of course do so. Tennis Borders hope that the optional packages will offer an extra element to the competition for Borders players. Any questions then please get in contact with Elspeth Whitelaw Katie Hart Secretary, Tennis Borders JMC Elspeth Whitelaw Convenor, Tennis Borders JMC 07811 199291 elspethwtennis@aol.com
