just look for the shark Produce, much sourced locally, including fresh vegetables, fruit, meat, eggs, bread, cakes and pastries, jams pickles and preserves; fish most weeks; street food and handicrafts.

What a busy Market it was on Saturday! We hope you liked our expanding range of traders. You can now reckon to do most of your weekly shop on Saturday mornings at Headington Market and support local community causes while you do it.

The traders are setting up. Floortje is here with Into The Garden. Terry is sharpening my wood chisels already. Our wonderful helpers are putting out the barriers. It's the last week or two of Styan's asparagus. Come along soon, talk to the traders and tell them what you like and what you don't like.

We hope you liked last Saturday’s Market run in conjunction with Headington Festival. We are hoping to expand permanently to the north side of London Road as the Market grows. On Saturday we expect another big Market with some new and some fairly new stalls. Brand new will be Floortje van der Ven and Andrea Leen from ‘Into the Garden Community Interest Company’ which aims to give people with autism the skills and knowledge to work in horticulture. They are a not-for-profit flower and herb farm based in Wytham, very local and organic. We also welcome back the Police Community Team, Terry with Point Sharp (knife sharpening), Land (Isle of Wight) CIC, Paul and family of Loafed Oxford, and Paul from Piper’s Fresh Fish. Approximately east to west along London Road we will have: Ali with olives etc Jamie from Blacklands Organic fruit, veg, salad, mushrooms (note Jamie’s new position) Doug with Common Leys Farm pies Eadles – meat and sausages Vass with Greek pastries Oxford Delhi Indian food Police Community Team Charlie’s Eggs, Cakes, Chutnies Jane’s Kitchen Go Greek – souvlaki wraps Tim from Pick’s Organic Farm – meat and breakfast baps Styans Family Farm fruit and veg Danilo with Sicilian produce Noel from N & J Plants In New High Street: Cornfield Bakery Point Sharp – see below for details Paul from Loafed Oxford – doughnuts and pastries (http://www.loafedoxford.co.uk/) Land (Isle of Wight) (https://www.facebook.com/TheLandIWCIC/ ) (all kinds of produce including oils, cheese, mushrooms) Floortje and Andrea Leen from Into the Garden CIC (see above). A note if you want Terry to sharpen something: If you wish to bring along items for sharpening please note that they must be brought in a sealed container or well wrapped in newspaper and taped. They will be rewrapped for safe transportation home. Also lawn-mower blades, shears, chisels and anything that can be sharpened. Under-18s not served. Do come along and support the stallholders and your local Market, and get your weekly groceries (and treats) into the bargain. Remember that Headington Market raises money for community causes in Headington.

What a great Market and Festival yesterday. How many Oxford markets can bring you wonderful fruit and veg alongside Flamenco dancers and musicians? The biggest Market ever in Headington is setting up now! Stop press: we have cheese! (Brockleby's Pies, New High St). And we have owls, soaps, candles, pens, knife sharpening, leather goods, fabric good, RSPB (outside Royal Standard) - plus all your usual food and goodies. And the Festival! The sun is shining. This Saturday Headington Market links with Headington Festival to bring you something very special – more stalls than ever before in Headington interlinked with entertainments, music and dancing. We will have food, handicrafts, a face painter for the kids, a knife-sharpener, Heathrow Owl Rescue, RSPB amongst many others. We will be on both sides of London Road. Also there’s a brilliant quiz for youngsters in the Festival programme. Do come along and support the stallholders and your local Market, and get your weekly groceries (and treats) into the bargain. A brand new attraction coming to the Market on Saturday: Terry with his knife-sharpening stall. If you wish to bring along items for sharpening please note that they must be brought in a sealed container or well wrapped in newspaper and taped. They will be rewrapped for safe transportation home. Also lawn-mower blades and anything that can be sharpened. Terry is also bringing back Heathrow Owl Rescue - come and stroke the European Eagle Owl and donate to help this wonderful cause.

Next weekend is Headington Festival. Next Saturday's Market will be something special. Lots of stalls, food, handicrafts, owls, RSPB and lots else besides including music and entertainments. Please come along and see the Headington Festival team; support the Festival by buying raffle tickets (great prizes). And take the opportunity to get your reusable Market shopping bag (NB latest news: they're even washable!).

The Market traders are setting up. The rain has passed (we hope). Come and meet our new traders - Land (Isle of Wight) are outside the Royal Standard; Paul Drury (Loafed Oxford) will be near Kennet Road selling his new range of pastries and doughnuts; Rosie (Wild Rose) will be in New High Street. Headington Market gets bigger and better! This Saturday will be something really special.
