How can Britain build a world-leading life sciences strategy? Read Jonathan Michie's new article below. You can also hear Professor Michie speak, free and open to all, at Kellogg College this Saturday, 5.30pm. He will argue that the 2007-2008 global financial crisis and the resultant 2009 global recession were caused by the ‘capitalism unleashed’ form of free-market globalisation that had been created from the 1980s onwards, and that what is needed for the next historical epoch is a ‘Global Green New Deal’, to encourage sustainable development. To book your place, please email bookings@kellogg.ox.ac.uk . We look forward to seeing you!
Time's nearly up to book for this year's Gaudy dinner. Booking closes at noon on Wednesday 13th September, so if you want to be part of this highlight of the College calendar, act quickly! Don't forget the lecture beforehand too: 10 Years since the Crash. All welcome!
Join us for the annual Kellogg Alumni Lecture. This year's topic is '10 years since the crash'. Professor Jonathan Michie, President of Kellogg College, will argue that the 2007-2008 global financial crisis, and the resultant 2009 global recession were caused by ‘capitalism unleashed’. He will be joined by Kellogg Fellows, Dr Yasmin Khan who will discuss how the last ten years look from the perspective of India and Dr Johanna Waters who will look at how we might approach the exacerbation in urban social inequalities from a geographical perspective. The lecture will take place in the College Hub at 5.30pm on Saturday 16th September.
