First ever Graduation Ceremony for our Alimiyyah Students – Jan 2017 Oldham Islamic College (OIC) proudly celebrated the first ever graduation ceremony of our students who have completed the 3 years of the Alimiyyah programme – based on the Darse-Nizami Curriculum. They were awarded Certificate of Higher Education in Alimiyyah (Level 4 in Arabic & Islamic Law). We were joined by teachers, parents, families and local Ulama along with our guest of honour – Shaikh Imdad Hussain Pirzada – who handed out the certificates to our unique group of 17 students. The Trustees, Management, staff, students and parents are very proud of their achievements This is a milestone for OIC – awarding Alimiyyah qualifications as an integral part of the Islamic Scholarship programme – incorporating traditional sciences with modern Arabic, Religious Studies, Critical Thinking and Research Methodology - Alhamdulillah. Our drive is to benchmark the Alimiyyah curriculum onto the UK Qualification framework. The 5-years Darse-Nizami programme at OIC is innovative and intensive - to ensure that the students achieve A-Levels in the first 2 years, and the last 3 years lead to a Degree level qualifications. The academic rigour within the syllabus will not only ensure that the students are amongst the best, but are also driven to pursue academic excellence. Our students celebrated the first ever A-level results last year – and this graduation is a demonstration of our target milestones of academic and spiritual success at a higher level. We aim to provide the best of traditional classical learning in the modern context; the motto of OIC is "A Centre of Classical Learning with a Modern Touch." We eagerly look forward to welcoming students to join our innovative Alimiyyah programme to be the future Alim/Alima - InshaAllah. With Allah (SWT) alone lies true success.
