We are a second-hand charity bookshop on the University of Aberdeen campus. For over 30 years BookEnds has been providing students with not only a way to buy cheap textbooks, CDs and DVDs but also a way to make some money. We currently have over 6000 books in the shop, ranging from textbooks to literature, fiction and general knowledge.

You set the price of the book and when it is sold you get two thirds of it, the other third being donated to charity! If you would like to turn your books into money, all you need to do is: bring your books/CDs/DVDs into the shop,
choose your own prices and fill in the form. Simple!

A little update for anyone waiting for a payment from us: we have unfortunately had to make a major change to our finance system, which has involved moving banks. This has been a major upheaval, and has delayed our operations significantly, so we thank you all for your patience in regards to waiting for your money. I would like to take this moment to remind everyone that BookEnds is run by students, who are volunteers, and give up their time in order to provide this service for the good of students. We are not responsible for this delay, and do not appreciate our volunteers being mistreated because of it. If you have an issue, please send us an email on bookshop@abdn.ac.uk. Please do not vent your frustrations at us, or in any way harass our volunteers. We believe everyone has the right to volunteer in a happy and safe environment, and take a zero tolerance policy towards abuse. If we deem your behaviour to be unacceptable we will refuse custom. Thank you again for the continued patience.

We'd like to do a shoutout to the amazing Aberdeen Students' Nightline and the lovely Bosie Bear, in honour of Nightline Awareness week! The theme for this year's Awareness week is #selfcare; with all the exams and assessments that students are facing at this time of year, self care is so important. Aberdeen University Nightline do an absolutely phenomenal job providing the completely confidential anonymous service, that's non-advisory, non-directive, and non-judgemental. Remember that the service is open everyday from 8pm-8am via phone (01224 272 829) and via instant messaging and email, available through their website at http://aberdeen.nightline.ac.uk/ The Nightline team will also be in the Hub (Student Union Building) tomorrow (Friday 24th) from 11-3! From everyone here at BookEnds, we wish you the best of luck with your assessments and exams, and a peaceful and restful Winter break <3
