Hi All, I have been trying to put up new photo's of recent catches but my internet speed is now so bad I can't do it. It's really frustrating as the fishing has been rarely good so far this year and I have the pictures to prove it. I'll keep trying and if BT get their finger out perhaps I will be able to. Rant over. Next a big thank you to all those who have liked and follow Blue Fin's page and I'll update the pictures as soon as my internet speed allows.

So far this month we have had to cancel, postpone or shift a number of bookings due to the weather. Always a disappointment when this happens. Anyway at last it looks as if we are going to have a few calm days ! With five days of skate fishing ahead and neap tides I would hope there will soon be a few more pictures to put up here.

In choppy conditions and at a 182 lbs this large female skate was an excellent first for Jamie Reid from Peterhead. This fish was a double hookup with Jason Stewart's fish pictured above.

This was Ian Hewett's third skate for the day. Yet another male with this one weighing just 51lbs. Always good to see the smaller fish just as much as the larger ones.

1st March 2017 A new season ahead. The boat is coming on with most of the winter refit completed. Lots of work has been done but I won’t bore you with that here and will instead talk about fishing instead as I am looking forward to the start of a new season. Last year proved to be a good year with some of the best skate fishing so far. Several fish topped the magic 200lb mark with plenty in the high hundreds. I will admit though that there were a few days when the fish were not interested but that’s fishing for you! The general fishing in Loch Etive also had its moments with some very good days, even had a tadpole fish! It was a first for this boat but I expect we will see another at some point. For 2017 I have treated the boat to a complete new set of rods and reels. The old 6/0 114H Penn reels have done their time and have been replaced with modern 2 speed reels. Also the Penn Ally rods that were showing signs of wear have been upgraded. The general fishing gear has also been replaced with new tackle, so we will be starting the season with all new Penn tackle. All this is with grateful thanks to Pure Fishing UK Ltd. The bookings are starting to roll in, with more so far than this time last year, so perhaps a good idea to make your booking now rather than risk disappointment later on. With the hope of a good weather ahead I’ll sign off for now and wish you all good fishing for 2017. Tight lines to all.

Today was booked by Robert McKellar along with his son Kyle and It was Kyle who caught both the skate landed today. This female at just 22lbs was Kyle's first skate. As usual it's always good to see the smaller fish as well as the big ones.

This fish put up the usual strong fight of a male skate and at 119lbs was Kyle McKellar's second skate of the day.
