Move Well Nottingham
Description
Kim Shone, a BTEC Level 5 Sports Massage Therapist (the highest level with commendation) from the reputable NLSSM. No more pain killers required! Kim trained at North London School of Sports Massage (NLSSM) and is SMA registered. Works at The Heathcoat Street Clinic in Hockley, H3Performance near Sneinton Market and home visits within 5miles from Southwell.
- An understanding at a cellular level and a vast range of techniques to adapt each treatment for each individual.
- Kim also looks at postural deviations and biomechanics.
- Kim’s goal and ethos is to treat the cause not just the symptoms. Helping people improve their health, fitness and wellbeing so they can not only achieve their goals, but defeat them smiling and looking for the next challenge.
- Having competed and worked both independently and as part of a team, I found this has enabled me to adapt to the client and/or environment in my work as a Sports Massage Therapist. Riding at advanced level dressage has given me an extremely sensitive touch whilst my training in sports psychology when competing at national level has given me an understanding into the mental challenges. My education and work experience in law has developed my brain to consider many avenues, what they involve and their outcomes in a subjective and objective manner and thus, a treatment plan specific to that client can be developed. Both law and dressage have given me a sharp eye which has been beneficial in analytic assessments.
- Sports massage is not just for sporting individuals, it can also help with various medical conditions such as arthritis, post cancer surgery (both returning the scar tissue and surrounding area back to it's functional self again and increasing confidence), carpal tunnel syndrome, stress, back and neck pain, insomnia - the list is endless!

I hope you've all had a lovely Christmas, that it's been special and filled with love and fun! It has been an odd year with celebrity deaths and votes to name just two, but there's also been many amazing parts. With 2017 drawing closer, it is important to remember what 2016 has given you, and use it to help you become an even better 'you' in 2017! This year I was inspired to write a thesis after discovering I had a serotonin deficiency- and despite near exploding with information, I cannot wait for it to published this coming year! Using my legal and literature background, I'm able to draw on my research and writing experience, I've discovered a somewhat epidemic, and underlying links to many medical conditions. It will not be a solve all answer - but will hopefully inspire more people to take responsibility of their own health, and use less pharmaceutical solutions... and the thesis will explain how truly simple it is too!!! I have been tremendously lucky this year... Ross asking me to marry him, seeing England RFC against Italy in Rome, picking up my love of horse riding after not putting a foot in a stirrup for over 5 years, putting plans into motion as Chief Bridesmaid for my best friend Katie's Hen Party and Wedding in 2017, and a surprise holiday abroad with Ross and friends for my birthday! Serotonin is a vital hormone... and without such amazing family and friends, the journey this year would have been an awful lot longer! I cannot thank everyone enough, and am looking forward to releasing everything I've learnt in THE thesis! Watch this space... 2017 TOP TIPS: Belly breathing, Epsom Salt Baths, shoulders and jaw retracted, use the big toes and bum more when moving (I was always taught when horse riding "imagine you have a £50 note in between your bum cheeks and someone is trying to steal it"!!!), appreciate yourself in the present, and most importantly, don't be a victim to your own body, learn to understand it and be the best version of you that you can be... BRING ON 2017!!!

Still loving the Co-Kinetic July 2016 edition... so much on biotensegrity, fascia and movement! Stuff from John Sharkey, Colin Armstrong, Jean-Claude Guimberteau, and Joanne Avison. I definitely recommend this article: http://spxj.nl./1rOKzNl no matter how many times I read these articles, I learn something new...so I'm now highlighting them! Work should be inspiring, not boring 🌟 if you don't continually learn in life, then what difference can you make ❤ #SportsMassageAssociation #CoKinetic #SportEx #ILoveMyJob #LearnMoreToHelpMore
