Crusaders Under 11's against Wymondham Match Report The French under 11's joined the Crusaders mini's assault on fortress Wymondham. With good Rugby weather and a muddy surface underfoot we sallied forth, a positive mind set and good preparation by Ross and Kevin put the guys and girls in the right frame of mind for the test to come. The first game kicked off at a frenetic pace with up front tackling and super strong rucking. In the second game we retreated into our shell, but come the third game we found our mojo again, pulling off some fantastic scores against the well organised hordes of Wymondham. Keeping our discipline and making good use of our possession, we gained good ground with storming runs from Jacob, Aiden and Josh. Laurie, Seb and Xander getting quickly to the breakdown produced quick ball with Vicki, Jake and Erin making good use of it setting Oliver and Josh scampering up the field only for them to be hauled down in the last quarter of the pitch. Wymondham realised they had some catching up to do and slowly worked through the gears. Thankfully Kieran, Eleanor and Jake marshalled our defenses keeping our line straight with Aiden and Ed flying into the tackles. For all our pressure we couldn't make use of the space and played far too narrow. Wymondham made whole sale changes and we decided there was safety in numbers all bunching up like grapes... allowing them to score out wide. We needed something, someone who would it be ? Up steps Nathan set up by Elle with barn storming fearless running taking 3 Wymondham players with him over the line twice. Xander chipped in with a beaut of a solo run to score after some great team work. We played for each other kept at it when the going got extremely tough, scored tries and supported one another to the very end. A real pleasure to watch. The guys and girls all put lots of the training into practice and we were delighted to see the improvements. Well done and more of the same please. The coaches

Crusaders u9s vs Wmondham - ITALY GROUP MATCH REPORT. Following on from our the previousu9s report last week here is how our other team got on against Wymondham. Team: James, Josh P, Josh C, Annie, Troy, Rebecca, Daniel, Ollie & Hugo. Game 1: James scored 2 tries, making himself a nuisance in the tackle and picking up loose/dropped passes. Rebecca took a knock on the nose during the warm up, but played on to tackle every thing that moved. Ollie made a great effort making some good cover tackles and scoring one try. Game 2: Josh C came into his own this game, making determined tackles and pinching a good try. Daniel was a menace, pouncing on any Wymondham player within arms reach. Annie played really well, with some strong tackling and running. Hugo also made some charging runs, drawing 2 or 3 players every time. James scored another 2 tries. Game 3: Troy grew in confidence this game, making ground when running straight. Josh P ad a busy morning, quietly covering a lot of ground supporting runners and tackling. James scored 2 more tries. I think every body had a lot of fun at this fixture. It was nice to play a team who could field 2 teams of similar ability to us. Wymondham were full of confidence, had some big ball carriers/tacklers and we dealt with them reasonably well. I touched on this at training this week, but I feel if we kept our defensive line a bit better and didn't rely on the usual players to make the harder tackles we would be near perfect in our structure. Constructive criticism...This was a good performance by all. Thanks Scott Veness.
