Patch testing in the spotlight after Glasgow salon sued Brow tint Mar 16, 20181 comment Share13 By Georgia Seago Industry News A Scottish woman sued a Glasgow salon for over £7,000 after a severe allergic reaction to a brow tint. The case hit the headlines this week as Glasgow Sheriff Court awarded Lauren Grubb damages of £7,250 for the 2014 incident. It serves as a reminder of the importance of patch testing. Grubb had a brow tint at Blush Hair and Beauty in Shettleston without carrying out a patch test prior to her appointment. She ended up at Glasgow’s Royal Infirmary hospital after her skin turned red and blotchy and worsened over the five days following the appointment. She was first given antihistamines and then steroid cream and antibiotics, and experienced peeling and weeping of the skin around her eyebrows as well as hair loss. Grubb successfully sued both the salon owner and therapist who carried out the treatment.
