We are a partner provider pre-school with Angus Council in Montrose, Angus. We operate a waiting list and accept children from the age of 2-5 years
Lochside Playgroup caters for children between the ages of 2 1/2 and 5 years old, with a maximum of 24 children per session. The Playgroup is a registered charity run by a voluntary committee. It s a partner provider with Angus Council and registered by the Care Commission. It is also a member of the SPPA.
The Playgroup runs Monday to Thursday in the Community Lounge, Lochside Primary School, Montrose.
Sessions are 9:00- 12:00, 9:00- 13:00 or 9:00- 14:00. All funded children are entitled to the 9:00- 13:00 session.
We also offer wrap around from the school nursery 12:00- 14:00 at £2.50 per hour.
The fees are £2.50 per hour for non-government funded places. All children are eligible for a funded place from around four weeks after their third birthday.
Lochside Playgroup holds a waiting list and places are offered to children on that list throughout the year as and when a place becomes available.
If you are interested in enrolling your child you are welcome to come along and meet the staff and children to find out the pre-school curriculum, and to share information about your child.

facebook.comSo today we joined the school in a fire drill, I cannot express how proud I am of each and every one of the children, they held a partners hand and walked in a perfect line to our point. We got out of the building in under a minute! We had lots of comments about how well the children did so well done to you all!! This week has been wonderful with lots of grandparents visiting! The children have really enjoyed having the grandparents in and I hope they had fun too. If anyone would like to share feedback we would really appreciate it. Please remember people can come along anytime so if you missed out not to worry 😃 Quick reminder also that it is a short week next week with the playgroup being closed Thursday 15th Friday 16th Monday 19th I hope you all have a lovely weekend
Committee meeting tomorrow evening 6.30pm, at the playgroup. i don’t need anyone to sign up to do anything (I think that often puts people off coming along) it’s a great opportunity To hear about up coming fundraisers, chat with staff and have a cuppy and biscuit! Maximum I’ll keep you is an hour. So please come along 😃😃

Good morning, I am looking for some feedback and would appreciate you letting us know in the comments. This will support us in the future with getting the family involved with what the children are learning about at playgroup.🙂 Did you find that having the Homelink book and Tilly the bear home with you for an evening encouraged your child to share with the family what they have been learning about at playgroup? 🐻
‘‘Twas the night before Christmas” Is one of my favourite Christmas stories and it’s tonight!!! I can only imagine how very excited all of the playgroup children past and present are. Well the count down is on and we have lots of excited staff with the count down to the Christmas party on Friday!! Our party is at the Columba Hall. Staff will be there from 8.30am so if anyone will be rushing and want to drop playgroup child off before school drop off please feel free, if anyone has a problem getting there please let Lianne know and I will organise it for you. Our special visitor is arriving at 11am please ensure you are with us by 10.55 so not to be disappointed! If your child is not with us on a Friday they are welcome to come along but an adult will be required to staff too. For any parents who would like to stay anyway fantastic! The more the merrier! We will have lots going on at our party so any help would be very welcomed!

Unfortunately Lochside Playgroup will be closed tomorrow Wednesday 13/12 due to failure in the heating system. Can you please share this with anyone not on Facebook. Lianne
I have received a note from the school stating the heating is still not sorted but is still being worked on. As soon as I know any further information I will make you aware though he School have advice making childcare arrangement for tomorrow incase of school closure. I am incredibly sorry for the huge inconvenience this is causing
Good evening, As some of you may be aware the heating at Lochside Primary School is not working, due to this the school will be closed meaning us at playgroup will also be closed. I will keep you all posted as soon as I no anything. I apologise for the inconvenience Lianne
Good morning. Unfortunately we have a problem with our heating. It is on, although not heating up as much as it should. All children have been kept very busy having lots of fun physical play. I’ve been assured the problem will be sorted by this afternoon, however if you wish to collect your child early you are more than welcome. I am sorry for the huge inconvenience however this is completely out with our control.
