A brilliant day at our first NPS Dressage Championships at Addington Manor and my amazing 'Spinway Blackthorn' exceeded all expectations to be called into the prize giving for the top 6 in both his Finals. He was 4th in his Prelim final and 3rd in his Novice final. We were also thrilled to be in Rosemary Myers Team 'Ponies and Prosecco' where we had a 2nd and 3rd respectively. Brilliant work girls Lewene Ennett and Anya Hitt and Rosemary. So thrilled with my wonderful pony ‘Spinway Blackthorn’ , his fourth consecutive visit to HOYS and he was 10th equal with a very respectable 5th highest ride mark. He has had a busy stud season , his visiting mares have been scanned safely in foal for 2018 and we would like to thank their owners for their continued support. We would also like to wish his part bred son ‘ Kativa Dumbledore ‘ good luck for Sunday in the SHP , he too is a regular visitor to HOYS. Father and daughter team 'Pilgrims Knight Errant' and 'Kativa Dark Magician Girl' have had a super couple of outings. NPS area 12 saw them win their respective classes with Knight Errant taking Connemara Champion and Mountain & Moorland Champion and Silver Medal Champion. Today at Royal Windsor Knight Errant took Reserve Champion Connemara and his yearling filly daughter was awarded Third prize and best yearling in a super youngstock class. We returned home to the HWSD results from the BCPS to learn that 'Kativa Dark Magician Girl' is N/N which is brilliant news for the stud.

FOR SALE Rosscon Wren Class One Connemara Grey Mare 2009 14.2 hh By Garryhinch Prince out of Gentle Annie II Not very often does a mare of this calibre with proven breeding and such an excellent record come up for sale. Bred at the famous Rosscon Stud by PJ Watson ,Ireland and purchased by us as a weanling. Wren has been a truly outstanding mare for us in the show ring unbeaten as a 3 year old filly. She bred a lovely foal by Spinway Blacktorn in 2013. She then returned to the In Hand ring last year as a 7 year old with some excellent results including 3rd Royal Windsor behind two lovely stallions. Champion In Hand NPS area 12 and Reserve Champion Connemara Royal Three Counties. She will be 8 years old in the spring. We backed her this autumn and then turned her away due to work commitments and lack of time. I feel sure that Wren could be a super ridden mare or could return to breeding as she has an excellent CV and has bred a foal. Lovely temperament ,super movement and conformation and tremendous limbs, especially for a mare. Easy to catch , load , tie up, farrier etc . No Vices or blemishes. Spinway Blackthorn thoroughly enjoyed his little trip to HOYS this year and behaved impeccably. Sadly just out of the rosettes at 12th but still a huge achievement to have qualified for the third year in succession. Huge thanks to Chloe Chubb for riding him so beautifully for me , to Aromesse - PetNat & Equinat for their wonderful products keeping him sparkly white and taking the stress out of stain removal and to Baileys Horse Feeds

Just had some rugs returned from Woods Equine Rug Washing and I have got to say what a truly superb job has been done on each and every one. Beautifully and immaculately laundered and some truly amazing repairs as always ! Fantastic friendly service , rugs come back as good new , incredibly reasonably priced ,door to door service , what more can one ask for ? We wouldn't use anyone else , very highly recommended. Well 'Spinway Blackthorn' has been busy the last few weeks with Monmouth Show , Moreton Show and Usk Show and each time a winner. Fiona Cork kindly rode him for me at Monmouth gaining a brilliant 2nd place in a strong HOYS ridden , then quick change into In Hand bridle where he and Richard won the M & M mixed breeds and went Champion M & M. Off to Moreton Show where this time Chloe Chubb took the reins and only went and won the last HOYS of the year , packed full of quality connemara ponies. A change of jockey for the championship , thank you so much Emma James for picking up the reins as Chloe sadly had to leave before the championship. Huge thanks to Fiona, Chloe and Emma for riding my special boy so beautifully while I am unfortunately sidelined. Blackthorn hadn't quite finished though it would seem ! Off to Usk on Saturday where we nearly missed our class due to lost car keys and everything locked in the car !! Thank you so much to our good friend Peter Robert Gardner and some other wonderful people in the lorry park who unlocked the car with a long stick and shepherds crook !! Into the ring with no time to spare where Richard and Blackthorn win and go Champion mixed M & M in hand. Into the main ring Grand Parade and after scrupulous judging of all the beautiful champions of the day and Blackthorn and Richard only get pulled forward as Supreme Best In Show !!! Wow , Wow , Wow. Still sinking in ! He has done Three HOYS classes this season , each time with diffferent rider and had two seconds and a win. He did one Olympia semi final qualifier and was 2nd , qualifying for the Olympia semi at Heritage Champs. He's has two in hand outings with two Championships and a Supreme Best In Show !! One special pony !! Thankyou Sarah Hodgkins for breeding my beautiful boy and for letting me have him !! Congratulations also to Rachel Gardner and Pete for taking Champion at Ross Harriers show and a brilliant 3rd at Usk in a strong M & M class with Blackthorn's 4 year old gelding son Oaklands Blackthorn Winter. Oh and I mustn't forget to mention my 'super son' Dominic Williams who brought the spare keys from home to rescue us AND then only managed to find said lost keys in the grass at the show outside a tradestand !
