Description
The Official Beacon Angling Club Mount Farm Lake
Mount Farm Lake is stocked mainly with; carp (mirror, common, crucian), eel, roach, rudd, perch, pike, tench (both green and golden), bream and probably a few more. The lake varies in depth from 18 inches to 7 foot, in certain places, but averages 4 foot. The lake bed is mainly clear , with the odd feature to be found and patches of weed in the summer.
On Mount Farm Lake pegs 1 to 16 & 29 to 62 are open all year around, with the close season applying on all other pegs. The majority of pegs are of a reasonable size and the size of your bivvie will influence whether you can fit it along side your rods, if that is not possible you are allowed to place your bivvie on the grass (this MUST be on the LAKE SIDE ONLY).
At Mount Farm Lake there are two ‘pits’, know as the ‘little’ and ‘big’ pit. The ‘big pit’ is the specimen lake. This pit is highly rated for Carp to high 30′s, Pike to mid 20′s, double figure Bream and Tench.
The newly developed ‘little pit’ is intended for match and pleasure anglers as it holds good stocks of rudd, roach, perch, bream and specimen Tench. There are some low double figure carp in there too. Would anglers catching predatory species in the small pit please put them back in the big pit.
