SEN Katie established Excel In Education Tutoring School Ltd. in September 2015, after graduating from Queen's University Belfast in 2014, with a BA (Hons) degree in English with Linguistics.
Since attaining her degree, Katie has completed:
- Teaching Assistant Diploma
- Autism Awareness Diploma
- Classroom Behaviour Diploma
- Classroom Management Course
- Mindfulness for Children Course
- Yoga For Children: Music & Activities Course
- Level 2 Emergency First Aid at work
- Level 2 Child Protection & Safe-Guarding Training with NSPCC
- Help and Hope for Dyslexics Online Course
Katie also worked as a SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teaching Assistant in a local primary school.
In addition to her Degree and above qualifications, she completed Mathematics and English Literature to A-level and achieved 13 GCSE's (6 A grades and 7 A* grades). Katie was also tutored herself from the age of 7 to 19, meaning she has a wealth of experience as the student. As such, she is able to understand the challenges student's face, and how beneficial tuition can be.
Her passion for Education and student development is clear, and it is what underpins the ethos of Excel.
