🏁ST PETERS ANNUAL GOLF CLASSIC 2019🏁 This year's annual Golf Classic took place on Friday, 23rd August at Lurgan Golf Club. With the course in immaculate condition and weather extremely kind, competition among the 37 teams was intense for the quality prizes with count backs splitting the first 4 teams. In the end, the Smurfit 1 four-ball took the honours with an excellent net score of 50.6. Runners-up were the boys from Focus Gym while 3rd & 4th prizes were taken by Shane O'Hanlon's team and the lads from Celtic 2. For the individual awards, Stevie Cassidy won Nearest the Pin; Michael Moore had the Longest Drive and Enda Brady won the putting competition organised by the underage girls team at St Peter's. During the presentation, the Club expressed its thanks to everyone who made the day so enjoyable & successful, including - all the golfers; committee & volunteers; sponsors and LA Drinks in particular; those who provided on-course refreshments; plus all parts of Lurgan Golf Club, including its president, captains/vice-captains, officers & council, office, bar, pro-shop & green keeping staff together with the management & staff in Bunker 43 for their hospitality during previous Golf Classics organised by St Peter's Club. And a special word of thanks was extended to all the bar and catering personnel at St Peter's Club. The Club also took time to congratulate Lurgan's B & D team in winning through to the final of this year's competition just as darkness was descending on the course. Well done to all concerned for what was a brilliant day. On a poignant note, St Peter's Club took the opportunity to pay tribute to its principal sponsor, Larry Creaney who sadly passed away on 26th November last year and a dear friend of our Club. Ar Dheis Dé go raimh a anam.
